I just bought the htc incredible 2 three days ago. It is my first smartphone and I have figured out a lot of things about it but still have a few things I could not figure out!! I went on the demo on the phone and the tutorial on the verizon website and neither really helped for what I needed help with.
I synced my yahoo e-mail account and that works now, however, I tried syncing up my school e-mail account on the Windows Live Hotmail option on the phone and it says the setup was complete but I have nothing in my inbox and it doesn't update when I have new mail on my computer. Then I tried setting up my school account on the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync option on the phone but that didn't let me set it up at all. It's a Windows Live Outlook account so I am not sure why it is not working.
Also, for my gmail and yahoo e-mail accounts, I went on the computer and deleted a lot of e-mails from my inbox yesterday and it still hasn't updated on my phone and still shows all those e-mails I deleted as in my inbox.
Aside from problems with the e-mail, I have had a few of my friends that tried to send me pictures through text messages over the weekend and all of them got a message saying "invalid address" and I was wondering why this is happening and why I can't receive picture text messages from people.
Is there a way to go online somewhere and figure out what some of these apps that came with the phone do and how to use them?
Thanks in advance from an inexperienced smartphone user!

I recommend checking your email server settings first to ensure your able to receive and send email through your hotmail account. I have listed steps below to check your email server settings.
Additionally, in order to set up an Exchange email you will need to contact the Exchange administrator (your school) for assistance with server information and credentials. You will also need the $44.99 unlimited corporate email and internet plan to have an exchange email account on your phone.
Steps to check email services settings below:
- From the home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
- Select Mail.
- Select Menu.
- Select More.
- Select Accounts list.
- Select the email account.
- Select Menu.
- Select More.
- Select Settings.
- Select Account Settings.
- Verify the email address then select Next.
- Verify the Incoming server settings then select Next.

- Verify the Outgoing server settings then select Next.

- Verify the account name and the outgoing message name then select Finish setup.
In regards to your picture messaging, we can review your account to ensure your picture messages are not blocked. Are you able to send picture messages? You can also power cycle your phone and do a battery pull to soft reset your device. The maximum file size for picture / video messages varies from device to device. The file size limitation is based on the megapixels of the camera on the device.
The maximum file size that can be sent from an email to a device is 3 MB. When any message over 350 KB is sent to the device, the file is reduced in size to be under 350 KB prior to delivery.

I have a similar problem with the mail app (and gmail).
I was able to get to step 11 and verify my email, but I do not have a 'Next' option, just 'Finish Setup' so I do not know how to get to verify my incoming and outgoing settings. Any recommendations?
