led lights stop working

Since the update my led lights that notify me of a message has stop working after the update is there a fix.

Here is something that seems to get overlooked a bit, the notification light seems to be programmed to only blink when device is in sleep mode.  If the device is set to stay awake when on power supply, try sending yourself a message and then place device to sleep with power button and see if the light functions as designed.  It seems that a feature changed to conserve battery life is being viewed as a bug or error when it may not be.
