Ok?? I am not sure what you are suppose to be getting from the insurance company or version in a form of a text message download, that sounds a little fishy to me because i never heard of anything being sent to device as a text instructing users to download something. Have you called Verizon to verify they are doing something like this? That may be your best place to find out for sure what this may be..

The offer is valid and legitimate.
Asurion, which is the company which covers Verizon's Total Equipment Coverage insurance, released a tracking/lockdown app back when the DX was still running 2.1. Mobile Recovery will locate your phone by GPS, send an alert tone to find a misplaced device, lock down or wipe the phone if it's stolen. The web site will also let you file a claim.
The initial version stopped working on FroYo. Asurion released an updated copy today around 11:30 PDT/14:30 EDT.
They have been alerting TEC subscribers by SMS. **bleep** way to do it, but it's legitimate.
You can get it here:

It couldn't hurt to download a fresh link.

Thanks for the correction, I have that insurance plan but I never recieved any text messages for anything like this and no one never posted of the forum about this...
Update: After looking at link I remember checking it out from a forum post at another site but since I had Lookout that basically did same thing I decided to not use it...
