no email with Froyo-any fixes?

Hi- I Just got my update early this morning. I had no problems all day until about 6pm when my entire  email inbox was suddenly empty. Now I will occasionally receive a single email,only to have it disappear within minutes. This was my first smart phone and I loved it ,until today.  Do I have any options for a solution other than replacing the phone?

I don't seem to be experiencing any problems with email after the update.  I have tested it with both gmail and another POP3 account that I have set up on my phone.

I had the exact same problem with the MAIL application.  My google mail was okay.  However, my California Roadrunner mail through Time Warner (my two POP mail accounts) was gone from my inbox.  New email would appear, but then disappear from my inbox.  I tried adjusting my settings on the MAIL application to no avail.  Then I read something about how the new Froyo update utilizes SSL (Secure Socket Layer encryption), and that configuring email that way solves the problem.  Well, my ISP does not support that.

SKIP TO HERE AND READ THIS FOR ANSWER:

So I called 611.  Problem now solved

Power off the HTC Incredible.  Wait 30 seconds.  Turn back on.

Sounds too simple, right?  Well, I'm glad this worked.  I still have lost all my old email, but the new ones are staying in my inbox now.  Apparently, the update doesn't power down the application long enough to reset.

Thanks-unfortunately it didn't work for me. I tried powering off for 30 seconds, 5 minutes,10 minutes ,but to no avail. I also tried deleting the account and entering all the information again.  I still get very sporadic emails  coming through (only about 10%) , and all disappearing within 60 seconds. My email is also Roadrunner through TimeWarner in New york.

With RoadRunner in NY also have the exact same problem with my email;sporadic messages, dissapearing from my inbox etc didnt work shutting off for me either  I am able to send though

You are not alone - I am seeing the exact same issues... emails that were in there about a months worth are gone.. and I can see one show up then it just dissapears after a few minutes..

Its like it has a setting to erase read emails .... and I need to uncheck that box..

Okay, I "spoke" too soon.  My emails are once again disappearing.  Even the emails I haven't read suddenly disappear.  I wonder if this is related to when the Incredible smartphone checks for new email.  I called Verizon wireless (611) again, and they said they were aware of the problem, but have no clue if/when this would be fixed.  In the meanwhile, I guess I'll check other mail software, and see if that corrects the problem.

I also have forwarded my popmail to my Google account as Gmail seems to work.

have you tried k9 mail? its an app in the market place.
