notification ringtone

How do I get one of the "ringtones" I downloaded as a notification ringtone?  Also can't I have a different ringtone or notification ringtone for different people?  They all have to be the same?

Make the following folders on your SD card: MEDIA/Audio/Notifications, MEDIA/Audio/Ringtones and MEDIA/Audio/Alarms and put your ringtones in the appropriate folder.

You can set a contact's ringtone by editing their info, scrolling down and selecting Additional Info. The section to select their personal ringtone is near the bottom. I don't think you can set a notification tone for texts for each person.

To verify the information DarenRogers provided you will not be able to set a notification tone for texts for each person.
