odd txt

i got a text today that says it is from verizon. It states that I need to text END to 2888 to opt out...that seems kinda odd that i would have to opt out, it seems i should have to opt in... anybody else receive anything like this?

opt out to what though? Any specific thing?

Hi!  I understand that you received a text asking you to opt out.  I can certainly look into this issue.  TheGreatOne was correct by asking did it specify exactly what it was.   There is a possibility it could be some type of third party subscription that could have been done from the phone.

I just resolved a similar issue.  Only took 10 days.  So my first question, is the text a welcome text that directs you to a FAQ page?  Is the app Mobile Banking?  Is your bank Wachovia?

 

My problem was I would receive the text message EVERY DAY, one from Vzw and one from 2888.  We sent end, cancel, unsubscribe, and quit.  We blocked the ID. Notta, new message next day.   This went on for probably 3 weeks. 

 

If you are having the same problem, same app, let me know and I will give you what looks like the solution.  I haven't gotten a text today.
