@ or "at" symbol problems

I posted the following on the Motorola D2G forum, but haven't received an answer yet:

"Some websites require an email address as a login userid, but when I try to input an "@" into the login field of many sites I am unable to do so.  Neither the software screen keyboard nor the slide out keyboard will input an "@" sign.  How can an "@" be input for those sites?  Happens with both the stock web browser and Dolphin-Mini."

I have a Droid 2 System Version 2.4.330.A956.Verizon.en.US.  Anyone know what is happening or have a solution.  Thanks.

Look at the W key. Above it is the "at" key. Just hold down the key and the @ symbol wiil pop up, then let go of the key and the @ will be typed. This is true of the virtual keyboard, I'm not sure of the pull down keyboard. I only use the virtual because I can use SWYPE with it.

Still cannot type an @ at certain sites.  Try the following url, you don't need to have a Uverse account, just see if you can type an @ in the Uverse Member ID box.  No problem doing this on a PC using Firefox or Chrome.

I just tried it on an HTC Droid Eris using SwiftKey. It didn't work for me either.

I would suggest writing to the owners of the website or if they have a webmaster to alert them of the error.

Just another nail in the coffin for my transition woes. Their websites don't like smartphones. :smileywink:

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I stand corrected. No, you can not tyoe the @ on that site. I would take Ann154's advice and contact the site with this problem. Could it be because AT&T doesn't like Verizon mobile phones:smileyvery-happy:?
