I've had an Incredible for about a week and it seems to work fine. However, about two or three times a day (that i'm aware of; could be more, of course) the phone reboots itself. Out of nowhere (i.e., in my pocket or lying on the desk) it vibrates once, then the HTC flash screen appears and reboot continues to finish. I've added perhaps six or eight aps to the phone but otherwise not tinkered with it much. Gmail is my email account. (I do have the backup assist program engaged; could that be it?)

I don't think I have a task killer, although I admit I tried and discarded a number of aps earlly on. I did have a program called Quick Uninstaller (or something like that) but I've uninstalled that now and the reboots continue to happen. Two so far today. On both the Notifier went off as soon as the reboot was complete and I had a gmail waiting.
Otherwise, I'm afraid I didn't understand the second half of your suggestion, about an ignore list. If that refers to the task killer, I don't think I have one.

i'm not sure how to fix, but i've seen a few others that have said their phone locks up when receiveing gmail. yours seems to be rebooting when you get an email from your gmail account. i think the problems are related....unfortunately i haven't seen anyone who has resolved it????

Odd thing is, it doesn't happen every time. I get lots of emails through the day and today I've only rebooted twice (so far). I can tell because the phone vibrates when it does it. The connection with gmail messags may just be coincidence.

you can try to pull the battery and put it back in. i doubt it will help....but it's worth tryin. it sounds like a problem that may require either a factory reset (which you can try, but will have to set everything you've done to the phone back up) or even a replecement

Already tried the battery bit. Haven't had the stomach for the hard reset but it may come to that. And just when I was getting the thing working the way I wanted . . .

I have the identical issue. Someone mentioned task killer. What task should not be ended?
