There are several apps on the market that allow you to do that. Just open up Market and in the search box type in converting ringtone or converting music and hit the search button. I don't have such an apps, so I can not suggest any, sorry.

Ringdroid is another one. After finally trying it this weekend due to another post here, I have found out it creates the folders that the Android OS looks for as the default folders for ringtones.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

You only need an app if you want to use just a part of a song. If that doesn't matter you can open the music app, find the song you want, press and hold the file and select set as ringtone.

@Ann154 - oh yeah, Ringdroid, that was the first one I used and it was amazing. Good call on that one.

Ringtone Maker: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mobile17.maketones.android.free&feature=search_result

Ringtone Maker Pro: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mobile17.maketones.android.paid

By far the best I have used. The difference between the 2, Ringtone Maker Pro is $0.99 and removes advertisements. Easy to use and lets you trim and do whatever.
