seidio 3500 or htc 2150?

Alright, looking to get an extended battery - after returning overpriced garbage from overstock.com.  If anyone has one of these batteries, please weigh in.  I am wondering how much thicker the seidio 3500 is and if it is possible to cut a silicone cover and still make it fit on the phone.  Looking at pictures, it appears the immediate depth of the phone is the same, but then has a hump in the middle to accomodate battery space.  There is only 10 dollars difference in price and almost double the mah.  Anyone have one of these products, or maybe both?!?!

Not sure about the 3500 battery, rumor is they don't really have that much juice. I have the 2150 and it works just as great as I hoped. I cut both hard and soft cases to fit around the bump.

i have also heard that you would basically have to cut out the ENTIRE back of the case....leaving it basically just a rubber band around the edge.

This is absolutely true for the 3500.  I got one, and I am very happy with it.  I charge mine up and get almost a week out of it.  I am a light to moderate user.

I got the Seidio 1750 because it gave me more battery power.  Admittedly not a lot more.  But it fits in my cases.  And it was $41 at Amazon.  All in all, I'm happy with it.

Alright, I finally made up my mind and went with the 2150.  Anyone have this battery and can you give me any review or insight on performance/longevity?

Battery performance is great. I will admit I've grown accustomed to a long battery life so I'm running apps, browsing, and killing my battery life on a daily basis. I consider myself a heavy user. With heavy use I'm getting about 1/2 to 3/4 of a day. If I leave it alone (hard time doing) I bet I can get 2 days easy. Wifi is whats killing my battery life. Sitting home downloading and browsing for hours on end using wifi will drain that battery faster than you can imagine. Overall it's a great battery and once I put my old battery on the bedroom shelf it hasn't moved. I'm holding it for resale someday. I'm going to make another battery case thread due to the old one being confusing and outdated. Keep watching for the case thread.

Hope you like the battery!

I have a 3500 n a 1750. I hardly ever use the 1750. I run a limo business and consider myself a heavy user. Google maps / web browsing on a hourly basis. I did get the protective case. And although I have not dropped the phone I m not sure this case will protect the phone because it is so heavy.

Someone with the 3500...could you give the dimensions (thickness) when it is installed? (not just the size of the battery).

Thanks.

I recently purchased the seidio 3500, and have been pretty happy with it.  I'm out of the house for 16-18 hours/day, without a lot of opportunity to recharge the phone.  It handles that just fine, though I don't use a lot of wifi.  (It's worth noting that I traded in a Droid X to get the Incredible.  The X was dead after 8-10 hours each day.)

The battery does add some thickness and heft to the phone.  With the extended battery in place, and the seidio-provided back cover, the phone is approximately 0.75 inches thick.  The uncased phone with the original battery is about 0.5 inches thick.  So it adds a quarter inch.

The phone with the extended battery fits perfectly in the "Seidio Spring-Clip Holster for Use with Non-Cased HTC Droid Incredible".  The holster is really nice, and since I always wear the phone on my belt, it works perfectly for me.

Thanks John. Very helpful! Had a hard time finding the size once it was installed.

Here is a post I put up on droidforums.net, about the size differences between the stock HTC 1300mah, the HTC 2150mah, and the Seidio 3500mah. I have not had an opportunity to test the performance yet, but the 2150mah is going for days on my friend's phone. I am trying the 3500mah. We'll see.

This post has photos and such.
