How come when I receive pic messages (and even ones I send) come through as a slide show? On my old (original) droid it didn't do that. Is there a way to change this, so it's just a picture received that I can zoom, save or whatever? Any ideas or help is appreciated

To try to simplify things, a slide show is nothing but multiple images sent at one time, any time anyone sends multiple images or audio files they will arrive as a slide show because this is the easies way to transmit multiple file. The other option would be to send each file as a seperate message which isnt the best method. None Smart pnones usually cant read slide shows correctly so it appears a seperate images but all smart phones handle these files this way.
There really isnt any reason to overthink this process because the purpose is to get you all the images in a optimized way and using the least amount of data for the network.
Hope this clears things a bit....

You can press and hold on thread version of message and select save from list and it will save all images to SD Card/ Messages and you can open them like normal through gallery.
Save Files
SMS
1. Go to Text Messages view, threader veiw that shows the pic preview when its not opened.
2. Press and hold on Pic
3. Select Save from the list\
4. Now the pic should be saved in SD/Messages folder
1. Open Email
2. At top there should be the number and the words "View Attachments" - Click on View Attachments
3. Now you should have a list of attachments with a arrow next to it if not downloaded.
4. Click file you want to download and you should get a animation where the arrow was that is indicating its being downloaded.
5. Once the animation stops this means file has been downloaded to a temp file to be viewed.
6. Now Press and Hold on file text and a window should open with three options - VIEW - SAVE- and SHARE
7. Select Save from list
8. Once complete it will have a little message at bottom of page that says "File was downloaded to SD Card"
9. Now file will be saved in SD / Messages folder on SD Card.
To Save As Wallpaper:

2. Click on photo
3. Click Left Menu button
4. Select "More"

Thank you, but that's not working. My options when I do that are "save slidshow" or "open slideshow". And what confuses me is not all messages are like that. I know it isn't always the sender, because for example a picture I sent from my gallery via text message went out like that I don't know why? There are other ones I receive that do work the way you said, I wish I knew why the difference. And, also they are not fowards that go around. They are pictures that were taken for me and sent to me. Wierd.

You can choose the save slideshow option and that will save.the pics seperatly in the gallery I don't know why it does this but mine does it also and its kind of annoying. Because slideshows seem to be laggy and don't load as fast as pictures and there is that odd timer
This is correct, because the user sent file as a slide show it will show as one but they are still seperate photos... If you save them like my OP they will save as seperata photos.. This is why I didnt place any catagory after save because this changes with media that was sent...

It's a mystery... the pics sent to me are individual pics so I don't understand why they are like a slideshow. The same thing happens when I send pics.. I select a picture from my gallery, menu-share, menu-via text and some of them go as regular pictures and some of them appear like a slide show (when you go look at your sent messages). I can't make sense of it. oh well...
What does this mean: "If you save them like my OP they will save as seperata photos"
What is my OP?
Please and thank you
