I really love my droid i do but ever since june when i got my droid 2 it freezes. Randomly its even been known to randomly restart itself. Its never with the same application either they all freeze and tell me to force close them every once in a while. My phone does this at least once a day. Today was the wierdest one of all though..... I woke up and went to my music player and it said it didnt support the file type to every single sound. it wasnt even playing notifications for messages. Im at a loss any ideas?

I am having the exact same problem with my Droid Eris. I have not even had it a year yet (bought last august) and it was working wonderfully until about the time Verizon came out with the Iphone..... have you figured out any solutions? I have hard reset mine twice and it still does it.

Normally when the phone won't play music / notifications a reboot will clear the problem. D2's tend to restart on their own a bit. I've seen a number of different fingers being pointed in different directions, but a consistent theme dermatology be virus protection. If you have it installed I recommend removing it and paying attention to what you install.

I've been using Lookout on both my Droid 2 and my Droid X with no unusual problems. It not only watches for viruses but also scans installing apps. It did find one that Lookout told me shouldn't be installed. It also has a program wihich will allow me to find a lost cell phone. Are you sure you don't mean a task killer, which I don't use.

Thank you for your feedback. Adding to what was stated, perhaps the unknown error with the music player app was causing it not responding correctly. I would suggest you power the device off and pull the battery, then re insert it to see if it can help do a soft reset to clear the errors. The other things stated that was happening might call for a factory reset with you backing up your data beforehand. We also have assistance via our website at the link provided below that can help with additional inquiries. The link is: http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/index.html
