i was texting my friend earlier and i tried to send a text that was slightly long, and it would just put me back to my inbox and say it never sent, is it to long to send or is there something wrong?

Verizon text messenging is limited to 160 characters, including spaces and any signatures that you have at the bottom of your text. If the text message is too long, it will not be sent.
That is normal.
There is a text messaging app that will fix that and many more... Handcent... If you install that make sure to disable notifications on your normal text app. Basically; messaging, menu, settings, uncheck notifications
