i was wondering if we are ever going to get an update for the touchwiz interface? also if anybody knows of other ways to install different ROMs or just an updated touch wiz?

These questions are better asked in Android specific websites. This is a customer peer to peer forum that also has rules on what you can or can't post about here. Do a Google search and located those websites. I'm done here.
