completely new to Droid here. I have looked every where for something that will turn the shutter sound off of the camera when taking pictures. Anyone have a clue?

You can download an app from the market to do it, but otherwise I think they felt it was a safety feature so pervets and the like couldn't take your picture without you knowing it.

Well that makes sense. I am not a previous Droid user and was confused that this was not able to be silenced. certain events make it obnoxious to others so I was trying to figure it out. Anybody know where and how to find the right app

I haven't tried it personally, but there is one called Silent Camera. Beware, the reviews are mixed at best. Another one that I found is SilentCam, but this one also has mixed reviews, so no promises on either.
If you find one you like post back and let us know

I use vignette software. It enhances the colors of the photos taken and you can silence the shutter.

I am a huge fan of Vignette.
Absolutely love that application.
