uncontrolable music syncing from Windows Media

Newbie

I tried to sync some music today using Windows Media player and as soon as I connect my DriodX it imediately begins syncing all the music in my library to my phone. I can Stop the sync(but only after it has already copied 4 or 5 songs).

Then I drag music over to the "sync" pane and it will sync those songs and then imediatly pick up where it left off syncing all the music in my library. This is very frustrating, I do not want to add all the music from my computer to my Driod, Just what I select.

Can anyone help?

Thank you everyone for your responses. To what draya06 was saying, you can turn off auto-sync in WMP. Alternately, you can keep this feature on and choose the playlist that you want to auto sync.  Then, every time you connect your device in the future, the Player updates the device to mirror your library.
To preference which files are included in auto-sync, connect your phone and do the following:
Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the your phone, and then click Set Up Sync.
In the Selected playlists list, click a playlist to see which files will sync as part of the playlist.
You can turn this option off if you want to choose when sync starts by doing the following:
Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
The properties dialog box for your device is displayed. In the Sync tab, clear the Start sync when device connects check box.
The next time you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync.
For more details you can refer to WMP Help with Sync help files if

You can turn off auto-sync altogether in the Set Up Sync menu or by doing the following:

1. Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to your phone, and click Advanced Options.
2. In the Sync tab, uncheck "the Start sync when device connects" check box.

The next time you want to sync, connect the device to your computer, click the Sync tab, and then click Start Sync.

This is one of the things that made me give up on the syncing option, I thinks it just easier to copy directly to drive under Mass Storage option.....  Have you check the play list that should have been created for the songs listed, you should be able to remove the list from the copy menu.

Hey I know this one. I had this issue with my husband's droid. its actually a setting in windows media. I think its under tools or options menu. I'm not at home so I can't look it up, but there is a setting that auto syncs. And I think you have to change the setting for every device.
