update reset home screens

I got the new update for the incredible this morning and after it went through I started the phone and all my home screens have changed back to a defult looking state.  How do I get back to my original homescreens or back out of the update?

You can't, though there was probably a disclaimer or warning that this was going to happen.

i suppose it's easy enough to fix, but still VERY annoying. i guess i wont complain TOO much....but besides having to set up my homescreens again, i've also lost a few apps. and this, for some new bloatware and the ability to send larger files???? not sure if it was worth it? lol

Yeah, ever since I, ummmm, "updated" my phone, I have found the joy of third party launchers which allow you to save homescreen settings and layout, otherwise I would be going through this about once a month.

what was REALLY weird is that i went through and set the screens back up. then a day later i pulled the battery (i just do that once in a while) and there were all of my original homescreen, widgets and apps.....ON TOP of the ones  i had set back up....like icons on top of icons. it was crazy!!! i was able to drag and trash the top layer of apps and widgets....but i was really odd.
