Dear Verizon,
I have a droid X2. The version of swype on it is 2.24.66.17859 .
I contacted Swype and i asked them what the current version of swype they are shipping is. They said v3.0 just started shipping to OEMs. They said they are still shipping v2.70.xx as well, where necessary/requested.
Can you please let us know when you plan to push out an upgraded version of swype. Thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely,
Rich

Hate to tell you this but since swype app is a stock installed app you may not see a update until a OS update because swype usually requires the old version to be uninstalled to install new build... And as you may know, the stock installed apps can not be removed...

Wildman it actually goes deeper than that. The guy needs to contact Swype and ask what the latest version of Swype for the Droid X is. Remember when the X came out Swype was still in beta and only offered one production build to the Droid X. With that said from what I've read Swype is still in Beta only offering a few official releases. So a beta build number cannot be compared to an Official release build number.

True, but the OP wanted to know when they update will be recieved so I figured its easier to just express the biggest fact that even if the update comes out it will not be installed until it is installed in a flash form like what happens with a OS upgrade... If it wasnt a system file there wouldnt be a concern but it is so the update normally wont access the app to update it..
