Do you have to be in a 4G area to upload a video youve taken to download to facebook? Help please.

No, I just successfully took and uploaded a video to my Facebook page in a 3G area.

It seemed slow. I only uploaded a test video of about 4 seconds in length. It worked fine, but it was not instant.

Do you think the longer the video the longer it takes to upload?

Absolutely.  Upload time should be a function of file size for the video and that in turn will be a function of length in time.

Do you also have to have decent battery life to do this, i had a fairly low battery life at the time
