I'm looking for an app that allows me to use my Droid X as an ear prompter. I need to be able to record lines to play back through simple ear plug like I use to listen to the radio. Any suggestions? [personal detail removed]

You know, that's a great idea. Much easier than the time I had to do this and used my iPod. Waay too much work.
A voice recorder app should be able to do the trick. I searched the Market and didn't find an app specific for voice prompting, but Voice+Recorder has a good rating and has several functions that would seem to make it a good choice for this application. The only bad thing is that it's $3.99 and you have only 15 minutes to try the app out to see if it works for you and get a refund if it doesn't. There are a bunch of free voice recorder apps available that might do the job nicely as well
You may have already thought of this, but you'll definitely want to put the phone in Airplane Mode when using it for this purpose...
). Also, based on the little earpieces i've seen, you will probably need a headphone extension cable, unless you are prompting yourself.
Do let us know how this works out. I may try to set this up on my own phone, even though I don't have a call for this in the foreseeable future.

Can you just record an MP3 on your PC and USB it to your phone then Bluetooth it to your earbud just like a piece of music?

I can see no reason why not.
Just gotta go through the steps of recording the voice. That's what I did with an iPod once. Record the voices, load them into itunes, then transfer them to the iPod and make a playlist. Quite clumsy.
