verizon reception

Now after a month of use of Droid X i love the phone but Verizon service in my town of McKinney Tx. is less stable then AT&T ever was especially in any building at all.I will be staying hoping things get better love X.

I understand your issue and know it can be frustrating. If you have not you can dial *228 press send and select option 2 to update your device and you will want to do this every 30 days. This will keep the signal on your device updated to the nearest tower in the area so you will continue to receive the best signal.

Done that several times so poor service must be the norm.This is the first device I've ever owned that i can't use in restaurants.

Well all carriers have there weak and strong signal areas, I really dont think I found any that gives good reception everywhere (But it would be nice to have:smileywink:).... I can say that before l started using Verizon I couldnt find any mobile device or carrier that would even concider having a signal where I live.  If you are having issues and updating the roaming tower does not resolve yoiur issue then it may be that you are in a area that Verizon has not estabished enough towers for....   Have you tried going into the settings and set phone to find only home networks? I learned in weaker reception areas this holds a signal a lot better than the Auto settings.

 

Try this:  Settings/ Wireless and Networks/ Mobile Networks/System Select and then pick Home Only from list and see how that works for you.

My Droid X gives me the best signal from any other phone that I have owned, Inside my house, I have had spotty signal coverage with all my phones, except the X. I have owned the E815, Razor2, env touch, LG 8500, and the X. The X is the only phone that I have not lost a signal in certain spots in my house.

 

In the parking ramp at work, there were spots where I did not have signal with other phones. With the X, I might not have 3g, but always have a signal no matter where I park.

 

So the X has had the best signal reception from any other phone that I have owned.
