I must say that I am very dissapointed in the voice activation with the droid. I've nearly wrecked trying to use the bluetooth with the droid. How can such a nice device not work with voice dialing? Is there any bluetooth that works????

I share your pain. When I bought my Droid last month, the Verizon store rep assured me that Bluetooth voice dialing worked and we all know that's wrong, wrong, wrong. After I manually upgraded to Froyo 2.2, my Jawbone worked but the stock voice recognition didn't. I found this app, Choice Dialer, which replaces the stock voice dialer and it works very well. it has a little problem sometimes recognizing contact names but you can adjust the settings to your preference. It costs $4.00 but I feel it's a good value. Here's the site where you can read about & get it: http://www.androidtapp.com/choice-dialer/

Hope this helps.

Unless your bluetooth device has some sort of ambient noise filtering capability, then I would say that this may explain the inaccuracies for the most part. I use an old Jabra bluetooth earpiece and a Logitech PS3 bluetooth headset, and I noticed that unless I cover up the mic area, it will pick up ambient noises.

Is this true for other headsets? I can't really say, but this is what I've experienced.
