It appears as though it's in the testing phase: http://phandroid.com/2011/12/09/soak-tests-beginning-for-droid-bionics-huge-bug-fixing-update/

The update is slowly being made available. Try going to settings and System Updates to check if the update is available for you. I was able to download it this morning and just installed it. I am now having issues with Good for Enterprise, but that is nothing new.

I was on the motorola forums and looks like there was a big push last night, including my friend (who did not sign up for the 'soak test' participation)
We sat there while is downloaded and installed, took forever to boot up. She used the hell out of it last night and data never dropped. We hooked up the aux in the car and there was still a pitch, just not as bad and the camera seemed to respond slightly quicker, but still subpar.
This morning, she had no data and had to pull the battery...she is gonna take it back for an iPhone today. A for effort Motorola lol

I've had the update since Friday morning, and I've had the phone on -- never powered down -- for 4 days now.
Before the update I lost data (requiring off/on cycling to fix) maybe 5 days/week -- which wasn't perfect but was tolerable.
Since the update -- 4 days now -- I've lost data-connectivity just once, and it was fixable by putting it in airplane mode for a few seconds -- I didn't have to turn it off.
So, the update does make a difference -- for me, anyway.
I don't know why some people have had so much more trouble with their Bionics than I've had with mine.

Don't worry, it doesn't seem to make a difference anyway.. At least it hasn't on my phone. I keep dropping internet connection both 3G and 4G and right now I'm in the second largest metropolitan area in Michigan.
You're not missing anything. I'll be calling Verizon after work today about this.

I want to apologize to the community for the issues with your droid Bionic. I understand how frustrating this can be and how upset you are when using your phone and signal is dropped calls. We have released an update for this phone on December 9, 2011. I listed a link below for reviewing the information and steps for updating your phone.

That link does not go anywhere for me? Verizon tech told me to call Moto, and Moto told me to wait until 2 weeks were up from the date of the OTA release. As before...keep waiting.

I had the same issue. I did a factory Data Reset, and the update pushed immediately after the initial setup was complete, and NO problems since them.

Your update did nothing to improve connectivity here.
It's still a brick.

It appears there is a 2nd update for the Bionic. I have tried to manually update...and says none available. It appears by the list of bug fixes...I NEED this one!

I'd advise anyone who has the opportunity to update (which should be everybody soon, if not already) to do so.
Don't listen to the naysayers -- their motivation for saying "don't bother" is a "misery loves company" thing....which is kinda sad.
And I do feel sorry for them.

yeah that's it..
My phone within the first 5 minutes of the update needed airplane mode to bring it out of brick status. If it works for you great.. If you can update you should..
... but so far I'm not impressed..
but yeah it's my misery loves company complex.
I hope yours works fine.
Mine is still a brick.
