Have you tried checking Settings / Software Update / Check Now?

My feeling is that the newest update is a PATCH to the old update as it is only 8.3 Meg in size. So I expect that 2.2 users will get the OLD patch first, (which I got this morning) and tehn ANOTEHR update carrying vzw's current build number will come around again in a couple of days. This is what I'm expecting.

have you read of anyone actually getting  the later build? I can't seem to find anyone stating they got it, your reasoning makes perfect sense, you would think they would post that up in the support doc so people know what is going on...but that makes too much sense

I got the 4.08 update this morning, but it won't install.  It says that there is not enough space, which isn't true b/c I have almost 500 MB free.  It didn't install and now I can't get it back with *#*#checkin#*#* or any other method.  When I change the time, it finds it, tries to install it, but never reboots.  The biggest frustration is that the problem that this update is supposed to fix, is preventing it from downloading!

As I surmised in my earlier post, 4.08 arrived this morning. And right off the bat, I see under Settings > Wireless Networks > Internet Connection Mode  > Connection Type which appeared in the first update to switch between USB and BlueTooth Tethering has been REMOVED. My phone was left in BlueTooth Tethering mode. Fortunately when I reconnected via USB I could reset the mode internally back to USB, but now BlueTooth Internet Connectivity, advertised as a new feature in the original update enhancements, is gone for good.

I guess it had something to do with BT not working in the cars. smh.
