i have about 200 addresses that i need to delete! whats the fastest way?
Here is how I would do it.
FIRST: At the bottom of the Home Page touch Contacts and then touch the Menu button in the lower left corner of the phone. Then touch Import/Export and touch Export to SD Card. Now you have the entire contacts list with its 200 duplicates saved just in case you make a mistake and delete everything.
Now go back to your contacts list, press the Menu button and this time choose DELETE. Go down the list of contacts and touch the check mark next to each of the 200 contacts you want to delete. Finally touch delete at the bottom of the screen and they will be gone.
Re-do the Import/Export thing for this new contact list that now has 200 fewer contacts.
BTW, to see the two Exported contact lists go to the APP My Files. Then go down the list of folders to "external_sd" and touch it to see these two lists. On my phone each export list is named starting at 00001.vcf on to 00006.vcf and so forth.
This means that the highest number is the latest contact list you exported so you can now delete the first list you exported that included the 200 duplicates.
Please let me know how this works for you.
I do this every once in a while just to backup my contacts list to my SD card even though I also back it up ofline to Google. It's fast and it's easy!

I had the exact same thing happen to me, adamant118.
Once I logged in to http://bit.ly/xB4iTc, I was able to access BackUp Assistant to manage the contacts by deleting the ones I didn't want. After that, I permanently deleted the contacts http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/faqs/Get It Now/faq_backupassistant.html?grp=1&faq=24 and then did a sync again.
It made my phone look normal again.
