All of a sudden unable to attach photos to Verizon Message+ APP text messages

I spent 45 minutes chatting with Verizon tech support this morning with no success. This evening I stopped by my local Verizon Wireless Store. The customer service attendent assessed my problem. He explained to me that the store typically calls Verizon Tech Support to handle technical issues just like you and I would. Within five minutes I was speaking with a tech support agent. She attempted to troubleshoot my issue, but once again, no such luck.

Problem: In the Verizon Message+ App, I have been attempting to attach a photo or video to a text message. No can do. When I click "Gallery" I automatically receive a warning message, THIS FEATURE REQUIRES ADDITIONAL PERMISSIONS. PLEASE ENABLE THESE PERMISSIONS FROM THE SETTINGS SCREEN>OK. I am automatically taken to the Message+ App info screen. What to do now?

I also keep receiving the warning: "Screen Overlay Detected."

I would seriously appreciate any assistance to troubleshoot this bothersome issue.

Note:

I cleared cache partition with the past four days.

I downloaded the latest Marshmallow OTA update on 4/22.

Before I hung up with the Verizon phone support tech she asked me to open up the stock messaging App and attempt to attach a photo. I did and it worked just fine, nonetheless, I would still like to use the Verizon Message+ App.

Assuming your on the latest software (Android M) you have to enable permissions to the photos. I could be wrong but here is what I'd suggest:

Settings > Apps > Messages+ > Permissions > make sure that storage is enabled. That is the only thing I can think of. If that doesn't work uninstall the latest updates and update the app again via Google Play (Settings > Apps > Messages+ > Disable > Do you want to replace this app with the factory version select "ok"

Let us know if either of these help!

When trying to send a text with photo, I get the message "invalid destination address". That phone # works for phone calls and plain text messages, so what is the problem with attaching photos? I tried the disable shown above, but do not show that option in the messages. Just got a new Galaxy 7 today...and cannot send a photo!

The individual person might have block MMS messages or the picture is too large to send to that person's phone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ok so I just figured this out. My mother's phone was having the same problem. Go into a text and attempt to send again. When you get the message press ok! This will bring you to the info screen. Once there you will see a permission window and the permission the app has. Tap permission and you will be able to add or remove permission. Turn on the gallery and there you have it. You will be all set. Enjoy!
