Back to Junk Phone Behavior

It has only been a few weeks since I spent nearly a day completing a magical factory reset of the phone. It seemed to be getting better, but now the GPS continues to deliver weird results, usually when I have no time to fiddle with it or am already on the highway and unable to do anything with it at all. Worse, now there is a perpetual message on my ALERTS list telling me "Preparing SD Card, Checking for Errors". This is the first time I have seen that obscure message. I have been unable to remove it for three days, and there have been no changes or reports on progress. I take it the SD Card is trashed? I know that the Factory Reset did some kind of wipe to it, but that should have restored it to pristine condition, not broken. If anyone has information or advice that might help before I toss in the towel with this thing, please let me know.

First off, a Factory Reset WILL NOT WIPE the SD card, only the internal storage area. You could take the SD card out, put it in an adapter and look at if from your computer to see if it is ok or not. I would get things off it you want, and then put it back into the phone and let it format the card the way it wants to.

ok, well reboot disappeared the alert message, so possibly no harm was done except to my opinion of the phone. Too much stuff requires reboot.

I don't know what you have loaded or how you treat your phone, but I have rebooted my phone probably 5 times since I have had it, which has been around 6 months. Most of the 5 times was because Motorola suggests you do it, so I just did it for giggles, I was not having any issues. I have only had to reboot it maybe 2 times because it needed to.

Do you have some apps that are making the phone unresponsive?
