Blue tooth pairing in car
PLTBH
Newbie

I have a 2011 Subaru Forster with blue tooth and have had it paired with other phones.  I just upgraded to a Droid Maxx and it will not recognize my blue tooth in the car.  Is there any downloads that can help so the car and the phone can see each other?

I'm sure I cant be the first with this problem.

Hey there, PLTBH! Congrats on the purchase of your Subaru Forester. I have paired my device via Bluetooth with my car in the past, and it's a very nice option indeed! I'm sorry to say that I'm not able to say what may be causing your Droid RAZR Maxx to fail to pair with your Forester because I'm uncertain which profile the vehicle may use.

I recommend checking with the manufacturer about which profile is used by your car. Make sure it is one of the following:

  • 2.1 EDR technology
  • Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP-Stereo)
  • Audio/Video Distribution Transport Protocol (AVDTP)
  • Audio/Visual Control Transport Protocol (AVCTP)
  • Audio/Visual Remote Control (AVRCP)
  • Dial up Networking (DUN)
  • Generic Audio/Video Distribution Profile (GAVDP)
  • Handsfree (HFP)
  • Headset (HSP)
  • Human Interface Device (HID)
  • Message Access Protocol (MAP)
  • Object Push for vCard
  • Personal Area Network Profile (PANP)
  • Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
  • Serial Port Protocol (SPP)
  • Stereo

If you haven't seen any of these profiles, that may be the reason it's failing to connect.
