Can I use my Razr Maxx with a different provider in another country?

I'm in New Zealand for up to 2 months.  I would like to activate my phone on a service temporarily here.  Is that possible without breaking laws/ Verizon regs?

Hi Shaynec- I am envious of you in your current location! All of our 4G devices are SIM unlocked so you can insert a different carriers SIM however we are unable to offer support when using a 3rd party SIM card.
