Na no argue here just voicing my opinion Smiley Happy ) i have seen many come on here that had problems with charging via USB so i and few other guys suggested charging via what comes in the box which i have always done and when i listen to music i do by using the Audio in Jack in our pick up as the Audio is clean and clear Sounds as Good as CD but i know there are one's that don't have that Option so i can see why there is a need for using the USB.. b33

Does anyone realize that the original post was NOT about not being able to charge and NOT about whether or not to use USB as a charge option. The post IS about Android taking away the "charge only" option. What this means is that, in my office, I don't want to lug a charger around so I just charge my phone by USB on my PC. Yes, I can still charge, but if I disconnect the cable without checking with Windows first, I risk damaging my card (yes, my card did damage). There is an easy and permanent work around however, switch to "camera mode" (PTP) if you want to >>CHARGE ONLY<<. When I need to transfer data, I switch to mass storage mode. That's all, and I don't want to hear "it's not good to use USB for charging". Screw that. It's not good to eat bacon either...but I do. It's not good to jay-walk either...but I do.

Yep. That, and prosepromo not being able to watch a movie on his phone while his phone is plugged into his computer. Which he was able to do before the software update to his phone. Smiley Sad

Great news, Pure Gear has a "charge only" cable available through New Egg. I'm using it and the phone and PC doesn't know they're connected...except for the charging thing.Smiley Happy
