Can't download updates for apps

Android 6.0.1

Droid Turbo

None of my apps are updating, even though auto-update is on and I get a message that a certain app is updating. Tried to manually select an app for updating and same result. Tried with and without WiFi.

Is 6.0.1 the latest Android version for Turbo?  I have a Turbo 2 and Android 7.0 is what mine has updated to.

Yes, and it won't receive further updates.

I was eventually able to resolve the problem by powering off the phone and turning it back on. The problem has not happened again.
