Deleted a photo album

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD (XT926) and I deleted a photo album from the internal memory.

Is there any way to recover deleted photos not on SD card?

Hopefully you use a media sync option like Google+ or VZW Back Up Assistant...

You could IF, and a big IF, you had the software to attach your phone to your computer and recover.  Hmmm, now I'm thinking. I use StellerPhoenix recover software; worth every penny.  Normally, you could insert a SD card or drive on your computer and run the software to recover deleted files/pics.  Nothing is ever truly deleted unless it's written over.  So, I'm thinking, when I plug in my Droid Razr Maxx, my Mac (or any PC) sees it as a drive.  I wonder if it will recognize the internal memory?  Could test this by removing the external SD card. Then scan the internal memory like a normal SD card.  I'll give this a test today and see if it works and let you know.

Meanwhile, this is why I don't store any pics, downloads, docs, etc. on my internal drive.  And, because if I'm ever traveling and I'm confused as a spy and they try to take my phone, I can pull my external SD mini card and run (LOL).  Here's a couple of options, to prevent this in the future

  1. Get a, 8, 16 or 32 GB mini removable SD card for your phone; they are priced well at your local Radio Shack.  I use SanDisk, established and reliable. I recently bought a SanDisk 32GB Mini SD for $19.99 @ Radio Shack
  2. Go to your settings for the camera & video and change the default storage device to your external SD card for all your pics & videos:
      1. Click on your Camera icon
      2. When in camera mode, touch on the settings icon (the gear)
      3. Tap on Storage Location - choose SD Card
  3. Download Pics/Video - Generally, any time you download a pic (save it) from a Text Message, Email or site, it will automatically save to your internal memory.  Say, you save a pic from a text message. It will be saved in your Messaging folder.
      1. On home screen, click on Files Icon, by default you Device Storage is open with all the sub-files.  That pic you saved is in the Messaging folder.  Simply transfer it to your SD Card.  You can do the same with attachments you save from an email; like a Word Doc.  It's an added step to have to transfer files from the internal storage to the SD, but you don't have to do all the time, could do it at the end of the day or week.

The benefit to downloading to your SD card or transferring from internal storage to SD is you avoid the situation you're in now.  I never backup to Verizon's Server or Google +.  Both User Agreements have you relinquish your Copyright protections to photos/pics, videos you have take.

If you want to use a secure cloud based storage center, that is private, that does NOT work with NSA or other agencies, use DropBox.  I pay $9.99/mo for 100 GB storage and when I'm on trips I store my photos there in case anything happens to my SD cards, Camera or laptop while traveling. Then when I'm home, I transfer them down to my back-up drive at home.

As I noted above, I'll try connecting my DRM to my Mac and see if my StellerPhoenix will hit on the internal phone drive.  Truthfully, this is no different than recovering data from an internal fix hard drive of several computer makers.  I love the software. My friend took a year off to travel the world. He had over 1,100 pics on an SD card that he accidentally reformatted. He sent me the card when he was in Kenya, and the software recovered all but 3 pics.  Took an hour, but well worth it to him.

One other thing to add, as I'm a huge supporter of privacy.  If you choose to start saving pics/vids directly to your external SD card, activate your encryption on the phone.  This will encrypt your SD card so if malware/spyware or someone hacking your phone jumps on while you're using it, they can't see what's on your external SD card.  You can make the encryption password the same as your normal password of different.  I also activate it, to even keep Verizon, Android and Motorola from trying to access data on the SD card.  The last good reason to save to your external SD is if your phone crashes, you don't loose your pics/docs
