Does deleting stock phone apps prevent you from updating your phone?

so i was trying to free up some much needed space on my phone, i thought why not start with the stock apps that come with the phone that i never use. so i rooted my phone, uninstalled the useless apps, and now that an update has been put out, i can't seem to update my android operating system. (it downloads but when installing, it fails to complete)
i've tried un-rooting my phone and attempting it again but still no joy.

if it really is the fact that i deleted these stock apps, is this a glitch? or is this a way to force people to have bloatware they don't want?

There are several sites that tell you how to manually update your device to the most recent JB. Use Google search.

Reverting your device back to a factory installed ROM will allow you to accept OTA updates.  If that doesn't work check out droidrzr.com.  They have the 4.1.2 official OTA JB that can be sideloaded to your SD card and then follow the instructions in the tutorial.

Yep doing what you did is a big no no. In fact you can't even say that word on this board. I'm surprised your posted hasn't been modded yet.

The mere mention of the word is not a violation ... it is the discussion of 'how to' that's against the ToS.

I saw a post awhile back where someone asked if rooting possibly caused their phone to stop working and the mods removed and and specifically said it was removed because it mentioned rooting. That seemed pretty similar to this question.

In response to @fencing49 - when you rooted your phone, it voided any warranty you had remianing.  As other community members have pointed out, there are other places to find information on configuring and updating your device once you have modified it.  This Community forum is not the place to do so.
