Forgot lock pin - no reset prompt

I forgot my pin to unlock my Motorola Razr M and it won't prompt me for my gmail account to unlock it. I've gotten the prompt to unlock with my gmail account for a pattern lock, but it won't come up for the pin lock--even after 60 attempts. I would really like to unlock it without doing a factory reset. Any suggestions? Should I just go to the Verizon store when I get the chance?

I went ahead and reset it. Good thing I backed up my pictures two weeks ago. Missing two weeks worth of pictures is okay. Thanks for responding, though (:

Take it to a VZW store and a Tech there should be able to help reset it.

I tried that, but there was nothing they could do. They said this is a common issue on this phone and all they can do is reset the device to factory settings. The phone will prompt a gmail reset if the pattern lock is forgotten, but not the pin lock.

A factory reset should not affect the storage partition on the phone.

I made the mistake of saving my pictures to the device internal storage rather than the SD card. Lesson learned.

I think the phone internal storage is a separate partition that isn't

touched when you do a factory reset.

Not according to my first-hand experience today.

The way the internal storage is formatted on phones running Android 4.0 and higher will cause the internal memory to be cleared when completing a factory reset. The SD card isn't affected.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
