Help with File Transfer

Hi,

I'm new here and need a little help. I just upgraded from a Droid X to a Droid Razr and now need to move all my files to the new phone. The SD card is in my new phone but I need to know what do I do to retrieve the files so that they are available like they were on my old phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Cazio

Files on your SDcard should be recognized by the RAZR when you inserted the card into the RAZR and rebooted; photos should be in Gallery, music available to the music player, etc.  The files that you had stored in internal memory on your X need to be transferred to your RAZR.  Connect your X to your PC via a USB cable, copy the files on internal memory to your PC.  Connect your RAZR to your PC via a USB cable and copy your files from the PC to the new RAZR.  If you are talking about apps, they need to be re-installed from Google Play Store, or Amazon Appstore, or wherever you originally got them.  Contact information should be automatic if you stored them on Google (or Verizon Backup Assistant).  Your email accounts will have to be setup anew.

Thanks for the quick reply, I thought it would be like you said but wanted to make sure. Thanks again.

I'm having that trouble too and spent an hour or so with tech supt. Right now I have to dismount the SD card and insert that into my computer to retrieve the HD videos I take while at music class. Even then it's tricky getting the vid into media player. I just took the easy route and let it go into the Windows Live Photo Gallery. I'm sure there's a better way but for now that's about all I've figured out. The M used to bring up all the transfer options but now all that shows up is the Motorola device manager when I plug in the USB from my HP desktop.
