Download a file manager from play store. Store your ringtones under Music unless you already have your music in the music file. Where ever your music is store you should be able to find it and move it within the file manager as well. Move to Music folder within the file explorer app. Click on contacts menu button in upper right and select set ringtone. Options will open up. Select your file manager from list then music folder and song. Then save contact info.
The personal ringtones should be stored under the "ringtone" folder in the internal user accessible memory for the phone to automatically recognize them as ringtones and allow the user to select from the stock and custom choices.
