I have the same problem after receiving or making a call. Then to get it working again, I have to reboot the phone. Try that to see if it helps. If so, then it is a software issue and we will have to wait for a fix to come out. Good luck.
J8K, we need to get that audio jack working ASAP. The issue that you have described generally happens when your phone does not recognize that it's connected to your headset due to physical damage or this can be a potential software issue on your device.
If this is a software issue, then it can be removed by master resetting your device. Click http://bit.ly/yN1P80 to retrieve the steps on how to master reset your phone.
If your issue persists after master resetting your device than we can provide you with phone replacement options. We are anticipating your reply so we can further assist you if needed. ^LH
My phone audio jack is not working. When connecting, the sound only comes out of phone not device cord is connected to like car stereo. Please help. I rebooted, checked settings to no luck.
You have tried multiple cables plus trying it on multiple audio out sources, correct? I had a cable go bad one time, with no visual damage to it. It just quit working, I tried another one, and it worked fine.
I've been having this same issue for a couple of months.
Restarting the device, and blowing in the headphone jack did not fix the issue. As the Verizon Wireless Customer Support post suggested I will be attempting the master resetting when I get a chance, hopefully later this week. Even though this seems like a major inconvenience. I will come back and let you know if it works.
I was very disappointed to discover that the link provided by Verizon Customer Support above does not take you directly to information on how to do a "master resetting your device" as prescribed. So I gave up on that option and I am glad I did.
Motorola's support recommends cleaning lint out of the headphone jack.
Turning it off and cleaning out the headphone jack worked for me.
