I've been having issues recently with sending/receiving texts. I use Verizon Messaging for texting. The issue is not all messages. Just certain contacts. I've had people tell me they sent me messages that I didn't receive (confirmed on their phone) and people say they didn't receive my texts, which show "sent" (final status for texts sent to non-Verizon customers) status in my app. I've rebooted and don't know what else to try. Anyone have any ideas?

There is a default message limit of 200 per conversation. Have you reached that limit? You can either delete some or raise the limit in Text Messaging > Settings.
Are the senders and receivers all on Verizon? On carriers other than Verizon? Call Verizon and make sure your account is setup properly. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible about the problem
Are some iPhone users? Are you a former iPhone user?

Based on the great information you provided, it sounds like the threads may have reached their limit, like @breezex suggested. Is this still an issue for you? If so, please keep me posted so we can look further into this.
