Jelly Bean Update

Every morning I go to System Settings, About Phone, and finally System Updates  looking for some information about when Jelly Bean is going to replace Ice Cream Sandwich. I always get your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time. I wonder if Verizon knows how much this infuriates me every day. I don't blame Verizon but Motorola is not on the cutting edge of technology. I have been reading about Jelly Bean since last fall. Most of the new Motorola phones came with Jelly Bean but not the Razr and Razr Max. Motorola has been posting on their web page that the update will happen sometime in Q1. That means T-23 days and counting. I keep hoping that they might roll it out before the last day but I guess they must really think there are problems with the release to be keeping it from release for so long. I have talked to Motorola and they give you all this BS about wanting to release the best product. Google wrote the OS last year and all Motorola and Verizon have to do is certify that it works with their systems. How long does it take? Is a Razr HD really that much different than a Razr or Razr Max. I found the release that someone accidentally rolled out on 12/24/12 out on the internet and you can download it and install from your micro sd card. Everyone who posted did not report any problems. So why is Motorola and Verizon setting on the release. I used to be an iPhone user and we got updates constantly and on time. They did not announce and dangle it in front of you for six months before making the release. It is 23 days left in Q1 so I am holding Verizon and Motorola to their timetable.

You should really study a little more on the process of approvals for an update on VZW phones as there is more to it than what you state here to start.  You may also want to read your TOS for this forum ans to information you state in your posts.  You may also want to think about the terms of the relationship between MOTO and Google.  There is much more to it than what you state here.  You really should research it more before you make these statements  FWIW the VZW updated the RAZR MAX to ICS on the almost last day of the quarter they had promised to update to ICS.  This is just the way it is handled on VZW phones.  I guess you just need to learn to accept it or go somewhere else you thing you can get more timely updates to satisfy your requirements.  A place to start would be a NEXUS phone which is not on VZW.  You have yourself a good day.

Ha ha although I feel for you, the phone did not come with Jelly Bean and when you purchased the phone it did what it was supposed to do. It made calls, text messages, email and web browsing. The phone still does that, does it not?  I own this phone and it will update when it updates. Because Motorola and Verizon did not get around to giving you the new os yet is not cause to get flustered and upset.  I would say however like with other updates to my other phones, my iphone does update quicker for os fixes and updates because Apple takes care of the ota updates. My LG Spectrum does not run Jelly Bean but the phone is capable of usb connection and it updates via that route which was faster than waiting for the over the air update.  The world will not end if the phone does not get a new OS. You just have to have patience Verizon did not promise you or me any updates we knew what the phones did on day of purchase.  But I have read that Jelly Bean is being pushed slowly to the Razr you just have to wait.
