Here is proof Motorola isn't even done and hasn't submitted anything to Verizon...

Hey, I wanted to give a quick update on our progress on the DROID Turbo 5.1…

That isn't really proof. Yes it is in testing however it is likely in the VZW testing stage. Why else would the product page have updated?

I'm glad Moto responded. Hopefully we will get the update shortly.

No it is NOT the lab test cycle is before they do the soak test and BEFORE they hand it in to Verizon which was outlined by Motorola when they first introduced the beta testing.

I suppose the product page was changed as a joke then be a VZW employee then?

To me lab test means it is simply being tested. Nowhere did they say where in the test phase it is. You're right it could be in the Moto labs still or it could be very close to release in the Verizon test labs (hence the product update on the page).

But I have not seen where Moto defines lab test cycle as not being sent to Verizon yet. I'd be happy if you could link me to that post.

I no longer have access to their beta forums, but they have a update cycle chart when it first started. Lab testing is Motorola testing. When it past those test and licensing then they do their soak testing and submit the update to carriers. Once everyone is comfortible then the update gets scheduled to push out. So they are near the end but they can't give a time line because worse case it bricks phones they are going to have to delay.

No problem. I actually do agree in this case as I have been in several Moto soak tests in the past.

I thought them releasing an update without a soak test was a bit strange as usually the update goes public in a week or less from the soak push (meaning it doesn't take VZW long to approve).

Hopefully if they are close a soak test will be soon.

I know of people who got the email for potential soak testing for the Turbo when it was for 5.0.2, and they never followed through with it.  My guess those people who got the emails are the ones going to test 5.1 instead of 5.0.2.

I think the changes on Verizon pages may be just a typo.

I'm aware of the 5.0.2 soak test they were going to push. From what I heard, it was cancelled last minute due to a huge issue they discovered before the soak test push.

Now, I don't know this for sure, but if there is a 5.1 soak test, I would think they will re-select the testers. Not saying the ones who were originally in the 5.0.2 soak which was cancelled will not get in, I'm simply saying that I think at this point due to the huge time gap between the tests, they will re-select the testers.

Of course, they could always just not have a soak test. That is not like Motorola but I wouldn't be surprised if that happened due to many people not keeping their end of the NDA during or after the soak tests. Unfortunately leaks have become common during the Moto soak tests now, and while I think it would be awful if they stopped the tests, I would not be surprised, it only takes a few to ruin it for everyone.

Believe me when I tell you that you're lucky you don't have lollipop!  I've had it on my HTC One m7 for a month now.  I HATE it!  Messaging has been buggy, voice search doesn't work, other apps bog down.  HATE it!
