I want you to enjoy all the amazing capabilities your device has to offer meaningless! Do you also have a Droid Razr? Are you power cycling the device at least once a day? When was the last time you cleared your browser and app cache? Here's a link for instructions. Please let us know how the device responds.

I have a Droid RAZR MAXX with the same issue for a few months now. I finally called support today and they don't know what the issue is. For clearing the app cache, which app are you referring to? Why would the broswer cache affect hotspot issues?

Well VZW support on Twitter now asks that I just reboot daily. It would be really helpful if this was fixed. I'm willing to do troubleshooting and gather logs/data to help with this solution. It's a hindrance because with my work, I need the hotspot to work immediately, not 3 to 4 minutes later after I enable it, it fails, then reboot the phone while people are waiting for my phone to work again.

I've found that through the several month's of Verizon's unwillingness to do anything about it that I can usually go to to around the 200 - 250 hour of runtime mark before it turns to **** again and needs another reboot.  Like you, I need my phone to actually get a job done.  If I just wanted a toy I'd get an iPhony again.  It's pretty pitiful that Support has told you to 'just reboot every day'.  That's not Support, that's just passing the buck and accepting that they could really give a **** about the customer base.

I've been having the same problems, and then some. Verizonwireless customer service is a joke. I've had to explain my issues to at least 25 people. I've posted videos to YouTube showing whats going on and they kept saying "these issues aren't common with this phone"  - well look at this Verizon wireless community thread, it IS a common problem.

I have four smart phones on my account. I have spent over 40 hours on the phone with Verizon wireless customer service people and I always get the run around.

Companies have life cycles, just like people, birth, growth, maturity, death. In my opinion, Verizon wireless is on its way outnasnthe nations' leading cell provider. Stepping over dollars to save a penny is a strategy of a dying company.  I'm on my 5th replacement phone and 6th sim card. How much time has Verizon spent talking to me when a different pone would've solved the problem?

So what I'm doing now is I'm having Verizon send me a new phone every month or so. I call customer service everybday and ask to speak to the manager who began helping me then disappeared. Verizon wireless will pay for this issue I'm having one way or another. I just call, airtime free, when I'm driving (bluetooth) and waste more of their time, technical support, meet me speak to a manager, etc...maybe one day they will just send me a different a phone that works? I doubt it.

I am one customer who will never again let verizon wireless rope me into a two year contract for a stupid phone. One by one my four smart phone contracts will end and one by one I will leave Verizon wireless.

They must incentivize not helping customers, because that's the only thing I can think of why they refuse to help me.

Adios suckers, I'll be calling tomorrow while I'm on the toilet to explain my woes, waste your time, and get nothing resolved.

And you guys are suffering all this rebooting business and paying $20-$30 extra monthly for the privilege too?

I have tried the hotspot feature on my Motorola M when wi-fi went out one night, and it was fine over the course of 6 days I had it,, no connection drops, no reboots needed, no 3G fallbacks but after that I couldn't stand the thought of paying for it anymore.   I believe tethering charges are unethical, but that's another story.

I got rid of my jet pack because I could use my Razr for a hot spot. I'm regretting that decision.

Just want to add our two cents as my husband and I are both experiencing the same issue on our two Droid Razrs.  Yes, we are subscribed, yes, all is set up correctly.  Yes, we have used the feature previously without issue.  Yes,  we have cleared our caches.  Recently this has become a problem for us.  We turn on the hot spot and within one second it says it is turning it off.  It never comes on long enough to even click on it to manage it.  The only thing that helps for a time is to reboot the phone.  After that it works as it should.  Obviously, this is a problem.  It is not an issue of users not understanding how to use the feature.  Neither of us has changed any setting or anything on our phone.

Concur on rebooting, more of a Motorola device flaw and need addressing. My phone issues began with my Jelly Bean update. All worked well up until that point, excluding the hardware itself.

My Droid 4 has already had issues with power button and having to use it to reboot for hotspot stability is ludicrous! I am getting a Jetpack because I don't want risk messing with button on inferior design of my Motorola. If this power button fails, will be my 3rd Droid 4 in five months @ $150.00  deductible!

OK from what I am reading here there is no solution to this problem?  If there is please post it as the last post was months ago and my RAZR MAXX is doing the same thing.  I just now have a need for the hotspot and now I have found cannot use it.
