This is . . . taxing!
Ok, what if you go to www.cox.net and try to sign in?
And, have you called Cox? I realize that calling their support is like shoving a burning candle up ones nose but...might help.
Oh, what server names are you using? pop.cox.net & smtp.cox.net?

Doesn't Cox have an east and west servers?
Where you have to add the west or east to the server address?

They used to yes. I googled 'setting up Cox email on the razr" and got this site:
Which has a link to this:
Which includes this note:
"
Note: Cox has updated the Email Server Names in order to make setting up email easier for our customer. If however, you currently have the old mail server names of pop.east.cox.net or pop.west.cox.net it is not necessary to update those settings."

Perhaps it would worth a shot to the OP to try the old servers and see if the errors go away?

As strange as this issue has gotten it might at that!
Mine worked fine once I caught the bit on the Cox website about not using the @cox.net part in the username field. His doesn't...I think he's holding his mouth the wrong way when he tries it

I tried all even standing on my head. I went to Verizon and they say they have no fix for it to get ahold of cox....cox says it is verizon software......so who pays the consumer that tries to keep up on the latest. I didn't have any problems with my old droid. We updated another line and they got the apple and it works ok.

I know 4 people that have Razr's and they're not having problems with it either. What part of the country are you in? We're in Kansas - perhaps it's a regional thing?
