I recently got the ICS update early Sunday and I haven't had network service since (no bars). I can't make calls or text messages. I also tried resetting the phone twice but no help. Any suggestions?

I suppose I did a soft reset (power button + volume key). Would a factory reset be better? Wouldn't erase everything on my phone?

App-wise no, once you've reactivated etc it will come back down from Google. I would buy MyBackup Pro and use it to backup anything you like to the external sd card. As I was schooled on last week, MB Pro will not get app data(saved game data etc)but will give you a piece of mind backup for everything else.
(I'm assuming you can still get on wifi to hit the play store...)
Really thought, FDR's aren't that painful but you will end up having to reactivate and reinstall everything but it's simple.

A soft Reset is Kind of Like a Kick in the Pants to the Razr or any Phone. Now as for a Factory Reset if you Do Just the Reset. And don't Reset the Internal Memory or your SD Card What it Does Rachell is Basically put's the Phone as It was When you got it For the first Time.. It will remove your Contacts so they need to be Backed up & it Will remove all your apps But you apps can be Retrieved once the F.R is Done by going in the Play-Store when your at the Main Paige tap the Menu Button My Apps will pop up. When your apps show Up Slid the Page to See More of your apps you have installed...
But if your not sure on doing a Factory Reset Have a Tech Go Threw it With you Call 1-800-922-0204 option 3 You will need to be on Another phone so they can Walk you Thru it. Or ask at the Store you got it at if they can do the F.R. For ya.

Okay thanks for your help so far. I suppose I'll just go to the store this afternoon.
But I wonder if anyone else has had this issue...

Try this, go to your System Settings....Under "Wireless & Networks" click on "Data Usage" and at the top of the screen is "Mobile Data"....Make sure the slide switch is set to "on" (On will be highlighted in blue)......I had the same problem as you and this seemed to solve it.

Hi rachellem,
I apologize that I am offering my response so late! Were you able to regain your network connectivity? Was a factory reset done to get you back up and running? Please let me know if there are any lasting concerns I can address.
Thank You,

I have the Droid Razr. Bought it 3 weeks ago. I live in Central Florida and since i have bought the phone i have been losing the data connection which lasts hours before i get it back. I called customer support and all they can do is submit a trouble ticket. I had a iphone previously which i loved and i've heard so many good things about the razr and being 4g well there is no 4g in my area (not even close) which i wasn't told when i bought it. Well, i am regretting using my 2 year upgrade and losing out on my iphone 4 which i sold already. So, without answers and several calls to verizon without a solution i am not happy. $230/month for my bill and i have a phone that doesnt work. GREAT!!!!
