Not receiving all text messages

I am having troubles with my Droid Razr Maxx HD. I am not receiving all my text messages. It is text messages from another verizon phone to my verizon phone. He will send screen shots showing it was sent. I will look on my usage report and it shows received but nothing has shown up on my phone. I have tried shutting my phone off and turning back on. Nothing. This is very frustrating. My phone often times acts very slow, and will often close apps that I have open in the middle of browsing. I am completely discouraged..This is happening from more than one phone number as well..

System version: 9.18.79XT926.Verizon.en.US - Droid RAZR MAXX HD; Android 4.1.2; Build Number 9.8.1Q-79

Please help.

Fgolfer, I can understand how frustrating this can be. How long has this been an issue? Are you using a 3rd party text app? Have you tried this: http://vz.to/H0tB7t and retested?
