Phone crashes and needs to be plugged in to re-boot.

For the past two days my Droid Turbo 2 phone simply goes blank after selecting an app like the phone app, or even accessing messaging. No new software has been added, I do run Kaspersky on my phone. The black outs (crashes) seem to happen randomly. Used Malware Bytes to scan as well it says no problems. also noticed faster than normal battery drain.

Seems like a hardware problem?

Seems like it, though it may not be, especially if its usually crashing when you try to open apps. You may want to try clearing your cache (Settings > Storage > Cached Data) or running the phone in Safe Mode (press and hold on the "Power Off" option on your screen for several seconds, and it will give the option o reboot to Safe Mode). If the problem doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you're probably looking at a software problem rather than a hardware problem. Either way, that's the kind of problem I'd just back up my phone and factory reset it for.
