Don't do a hard reset on your phone just yet. That is a complete waste of time in most cases. Before jumping to something so drastic as a Factory Data Reset, do a Cache Wipe

1)Turn Phone Off

2) hold both volume buttons down and start the phone with volume buttons held down

3) use Volume Down to go to recovery

4) Volume up to select

It will start booting here and you will see an android with its hatch open and an green exclamation point

5) select Volume up and down again (you may need to do this a few times until the phone is completely booted

6) use down volume to go to Cache Partition Wipe

7) Push the power button to select

😎 reboot phone

This will remove any orphaned code and reset some switches inside the phone. You will NOT lose any data or apps when the phone reboots give it a test run
