Razr M pink center in photos

Has anyone noticed a pink spot in the center of the photos taken with their Razr M?  On my phone the pink spot shows up on the screen before taking the picture when looking through the lens with the camera app and after taking the photo.  The spot doesn't always appear and seems to show more often when taking a photo of a closer object like a keyboard, book page, or blank light colored background.  There's an ongoing discussion over on the Motorola forums:

That does look strange. I wonder if it is a hardware issue?

Good luck with finding a solution.

That is odd breezex! Did this issue just start? When sending or uploading the photo, is there a pink center or does it just display that way on your phone? Is this photo taken with natural light or with a flash? Have you tried to turn off the flash? Please provide the additional details so that I can better assist.

Thank you,

Did this issue just start?

No. This issue has been ongoing for some time. Looking through my archive, I have a picture of nice a sand pattern on Myrtle beach taken Nov 14, 2012 and the pink center is there.  So the latest update in April(?) did not cause it.

When sending or uploading the photo, is there a pink center or does it just display that way on your phone?

It occurs both when viewed on the phone and when uploaded to cloud storage (Dropbox, Google+, etc.) and then viewed on my PC.  So it's real.

Is this photo taken with natural light or with a flash? Have you tried to turn off the flash?

All with natural light.  No pink with flash on closeups, but I think the flash washes things out so much that the pink is obliterated.  When taking a picture of a blank beige wall with the flash the pink is still there, fainter than without flash, but definitely a pink center.  So flash on or off has no effect except to wash out natural colors.

Do you have a case on the phone, screen protectors that might be interfering?

Good guess, but I get the same results with and without the Verizon hard rubber case and holster.

You probably checked already, but does the lens look clear and doesn't have any defects?

The lens looks perfect; clean and no scratches or discoloration.

I was maybe thinking the flash from the device. It occurs on photos close to the device or far away?
