I accidentally deleted photos from my phone. I am trying to use a photo recovery program but they all want me to change my phone to mass storage device and my phone doesn't have that option. My computer will not assign the phone a drive letter so the software won't work. HELP!

Never mind, I chatted with motorola and the photos are permanently gone. No more Motorola phones for me!

There are other ways to backup your photos. Google+ is just one option.

This is true for all new Android phones, not just Motorola. The ability to mount your phone internal storage as a USB storgae device was removed from Android by Google (close enough to the truth) and replaced with the now standard MTP/PTP. Photos stored on the external SD card (if your phone is lucky enough to still have an SD slot) might be recovered by removing the SD card, mounting it on a PC aand running a file recovery program.
