Ringtone transfer - Droid Rookie needs some help

Just bought a Razr M when they came out last week.    Still on a steep learning curve from BlackberryLand.

Downloaded some FREE ringtones from the Internet and have them stored in a folder on my laptop.   mp3 format and proper length.

Question:   How do I transfer (or copy) them from their current location to the phone?   And, in such a way that they reside in the proper location on the phone that I can select whatever one I want to be my ringtone?

try this file structure on your SD card (assuming that's where you plan to put them):

     media

          audio

               alarms

               notifications

               ringtones

then you could also use them as notifications and alarms, if you want; just put the mp3 file in the appropriate folder(s)
