Ripped off by Verizon

Newbie

I added a phone for my kid and asked for usage notifications at 50-75-90% on 4gb. Instead we got the notices on every 1gb which was very confusing. I asked Verizon to fix it and they said they did but the notices kept coming so they told me to ignore them. I ended up going over by .06gb. I was informed that there would be a $15 charge for a .06gb overage and the customer rep I talked to was rude and inflexible. I have had Verizon for quite a few years but I won't renew next time my contract expires as I consider this to be a rip off and I prefer not to give my business to thieves.

$15 is quite a sum of money to many people, its not something to just chastise a person for.

They were proactive and called customer service to have the alerts set. The Verizon site has been changed so many times its hard to even find "usage alerts" but in the future they can use the search box but that is not what happened in the past.

If the customer is upset let them cool off and then make a decision as to what they feel was unfair and take action accordingly

Customer Service Rep

Hello to you rmorris83,

Ensuring your services are well under control, especially when adding a new line of service, is really important. I appreciate you being proactive in understanding and utilizing your alerts.

I definitely don't want you and your family to no longer be a part of ours and we always want you to have stellar experiences whenever you contact us.

I understand overage can be frustrating and I want to make sure we don't run in to this again. I do want to ensure your data alerts are functioning correctly. Have you received any additional 1GB alerts?

Please also verify your data alerts are accurate by logging into vzw.com and following this link: http://bit.ly/QUvl3q

Keep me posted!
